I have just made a warming, delicious soup for a friend who is coming over for lunch today.
Creamy potato and leek with chunks of celery and carrot. I’ll top it with some fresh cilantro and a drizzle of the most exquisite, pure, olive oil that my mother brought me back recently from a farm in Tuscany.
On a frosty October morning, this simple, earthy act of making soup to share with another is my bliss in the moment.
Love reveals itself in everything when we remember to live from that place of quiet stillness within.
I could have made the soup while my mind mashed around a thousand and one other things to do, accomplish, become, or bemoan.
The mind likes to do that.
In fact, that’s all it ever does.
It cannot live in the moment.
And when the mind does what it does, all we have to do is yield…
Yield to Love…to Being.
There is absolutely no difference.
They are One and the same.
Rather than get caught up in the whirlwind of anxious, nattering thinking mind – regardless of circumstance – remember to yield…to let go…freefall into Being…into whatever the feeling is, whether it be fear, anger, judgment, grief…
Love embraces it All.
It’s the only way out.
It’s the key to our freedom.
It’s our very breath.
It’s the space between you and I.
It is the Soup of Existence.
Why fight it?
Why not become it instead, and melt back into Love?
With love,
Heather xo
